Circle 67 The Tempest Poster

We are such stuff as dreams are made on…

Join us on a mysterious isle where an opportunity arises for an exiled ruler to try and regain power. Prospero has been unjustly deprived of his Dukedom and those responsible are on board a ship foundering in a storm – a tempest which he has conjured for the purpose of bringing them to the island. Once ashore, lost family members are sought, love struggles against adversity and murderous plots are hatched. Prospero seeks to regain his Dukedom – but would he, in turn, free those who do his bidding, the original inhabitants of the island?

Come and see a shortened version of this truly timeless play which, like “a sea-change into something rich and strange” has borne so many interpretations over the centuries. Our one hour version is still packed with everything from Ariel's songs and Caliban's curses, to Gonzalo's utopian rhetoric and Prospero's sublime speeches. Come to your favourite castle or pub garden; admission is free and basic seating is provided. If you enjoy the production, please give generously when a hat is passed round at the end.
