"Sigh no more, ladies, sigh no more."
The war is won. The darkness is over. Summer has arrived and it’s time to meet old friends again. Now for the days of sun, fun and maybe romance. So begins Shakespeare’s timeless rom-com Much Ado About Nothing.
Since 1984 Circle 67 have toured the castles, pub gardens and commons of Suffolk with a shortened Shakespeare play… that is until 2020. After an awful year, we, like you, are delighted to return to doing what we love most. In our case, performing in front of live audiences.
Much Ado About Nothing was the obvious choice for our return production. It's one of Shakespeare's best-loved comedies and chronicles a rocky road to the altar for two couples: the young lovers Hero and Claudio, and their comic counterparts, Beatrice and Benedick. But as we all know the course of true love never runs smooth. Evil forces will conspire to split Hero and Claudio before they can wed, while good natured knavery is needed to convince the warring Beatrice and Benedick that love can still blossom… even in the autumn of your years.
Our production will last about an hour and entrance is free. As usual, we'll pass a hat round at the end, so please give generously if you enjoy the show.
We are really looking forward to seeing you all… And Hey Nonny Nonny!
