Merry Wives Web3They shall be my East and West Indies,
and I will trade to them both.

One of Shakespeare’s funniest comedies, The Merry Wives of Windsor is a story of love, greed, jealousy and revenge.

Sir John Falstaff, the fat knight, has run out of money and so devises a scheme to seduce two married women of Windsor, Mistress Page and Mistress Ford, who hold the strings of their husbands’ purses. He writes the same love letter to each, changing only the names; when the wives discover this they conspire to exact revenge by humiliating Falstaff.

Come and see how the story unfolds in this new hour-long adaptation at one of our favourite local open-air venues. We’ll provide basic seating and admission is free, although as usual we'll pass a hat round at the end. So please give generously if you enjoy the show.
