M4M PosterOnce again Circle 67 will take to the road this July with its annual Shorter Shakespeare Summer Tour - performing in the open air at various venues around the area. This year we have chosen to stage Measure for Measure, in a new adaptation by Chris Collins.

The action of the play takes place in Vienna where brothels and loose morality abound. Unwilling to use his authority to clean up the city the Duke departs, disguised as a friar. He leaves his deputy, Angelo, in charge, and although reluctant at first, Angelo soon starts to make changes, according to what he believes are his own strict moral standards.

There follows a tale of double standards, hypocrisy and the abuse of power. A very modern tale, you might say!

We are touring from the 18th to 23rd July to our favourite local venues -

Bramfield: The Queen's Head, Tue 18 July, 7.30pm
Bungay Castle, Wed 19 July, 7.30pm *
Laxfield: The King's Head, Thur 20 July, 7.30pm
Dunwich: The Ship, Fri 21 July, 7.30pm
Sibton: The White Horse, Sat 22 July, 7.30pm
Wenhaston: Church Common, Sun 23 July, 2.30pm

* Admission to Bungay Castle is by ticket only.
Update (16/7/17): Sorry, all the online tickets for Bungay Castle have now been allocated, any returns will offered if/when they become available - please click here to check - also (at the time of writing) Jesters Café in Bungay still has some tickets available for those who can call in to collect them. Finally, don't forget we are performing at five other delightful venues, for which tickets are not needed, so you can still come and see the show even if Bungay has sold out!

We’ll provide basic seating and admission is free. Our performance will last around an hour (or about the time it takes to enjoy a leisurely drink on a summer’s evening) and as usual, we'll pass a hat round at the end, so please give generously if you enjoy the show - the money we raise helps subsidise our full stage productions.

If Shakespeare at school put you off, come and see if we can change your mind with a bit of fast-moving and colourful entertainment.
